configure cisco 2620 AUX port

I configured an AUX port on Router to connect the modem. The all physical connections are correct. But when I use "show ip interface brief" command , I find the AUX port is down, and when I use " debug confmodem" , find that the Router can not detect the modem. The modem is D-Link DFM 560E, The Router is Cisco 2620.

My configuration is below:

interface async 65

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

encapsulation ppp

ppp authentication chap pap

async mode interactive

peer default ip address 10.1.1.2

compress stac

exit

username cisco password cisco

line aux 0

login

password cisco

speed 115200

flowcontrol hardware

stopbits 1

transport input all

autoselect ppp

modem inout

modem autoconfigure discovery

modem autoconfigure type default

Can you tell me what is the wrong with my configuration and thanks a lot.

Re: configure cisco 2620 AUX port

Try without "modem autoconfigure" on the aux line. It doesn't work all the time, even for known modem types.

Cheers
