Configure MSFC for MLS

I have a Cat6509 with MSFC. I have configured the internal router with Interface vlan <number> and assigned IP addresses and no shut commands.

I am able to route between VLAN's with this. We have deployed VTP.

I would like to configure MLS now, I know the 6509 comes enabled with MLS as default, if I enable MLS on the Router (session 5, then mls rp ip) will that enable MLS for all my logical vlan interfaces? Also, do I need to specify my VTP information on the Router? If so, on what interface? Do I also need to specify what interface will send MLSP messages?

My configuration if the above (totally wrong im sure) would look like

Router(config)#mls rp ip

Router(config)#interface vlan 103

Router(config-if)#mls rp vtp-domain AON

Router(config-if)#mls rp management-interface

Is the above enough? I can then set aging times and also my flow masks on the Switch itself.

If someone can explain, that would be appreicated. I've never configured such a device before :) but I understand the concepts of MLS and Intervlan routing (i think)

Re: Configure MSFC for MLS

you do not need configure anything on the 6500 to have MLS enabled.

You can look at the following link to get more informations :
