configuring a Cisco 800 with PAT and IP Negotiated

How do I configure a Cisco 803 for PAT and IP Negotiated on the ISDN link to a 3640 host router without running a routing protocol or static routes (on 3640)? The 3640 is configured for IP Negotiate on the Dialer interfaces. The 803 connects on the ISDN/PPP level but because of no static route on the 3640, IP traffic has no route back to the 803.

Whoever is configured for a negotiated IP

address should receive an IP address from the

remote end (debug ppp neg to confirm what that

address is). This address should be installed

as a host route; however, if there is

no static route or default route pointing to

the ISDN interface, no traffic will

be forwarded to it. We only know as much

as the routing table, and without a routing

protocol or static routes all that we will

know are directly connected addresses. Use "sh ip

route" when you have problems, this will tell you

how much the router knows at that point.
