Is it possible to configure all the ports on a switch at the same time or do they have to be configured one by one. I would like to change the duplex setting on all ports to Full instead of Auto. If this can be done what is the correct syntax?
Thanks in advance.

If this is a Catalyst IOS You can not change all ports but you can do a range i.e to change the duplex on ports 3/1 to 3/24 the syntax is
set port duplex 3/1-24 full

Yes this is for a Catalyst 3548XL switch Version 12.0(5.3)WC(1). I tried the Set command in privaleged mode but it doesn't seem to understand it.
SW2#set port duplex 0/1-48 full

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
If I type Set ? it doesn't display any sub-commands. Am I missing something?

You cannot use set based commands in IOS based switches. The XL switches do not have the range command option you are thinking about. If you have a 2950/3550, you can use the "interface range" command
