Configuring ATM on VWIC-2MFT-G703

Hi all,

Is it possible to configure the VWIC-2MFT-G703 interface for ATM on the 2621XM IOS 12.2(8)T10?

The command reference for 12.2T says that using the command mode atm (aim | cas) will remove any channel-groups on the E1 controller as the ATM interface uses all channels and create an ATM0 interface.

I have tried this and the interface is not created and no command relating to atm is shown in the sh run output under the controller config.

Is it possible to configure this with out an AIM module on the 2621XM? Or am I missing something?

Any help is much appreciated.

No, the VWIC-2MFT-G703 is not an ATM card, and

cannot perform ATM segmentation and reassembly. It

can be used as a channelized (nx64 kbps) E1, and

also in unframed mode (2048 kbps).

You either need the VWIC-2MFT-G703 in combination

with an AIM, or you need a separate ATM card (e.g.

NM-4E1-IMA).
