Configuring NTP Server.

I have two 6506 Switches back to back connected for redunduncy. One remote site router in organisation is configured as NTP Sever. On both the 6506 L-3 modules NTP Server Address is configured & are able to sysncronise with NTP Server configured on router. I want to configure the NTP Sever on all my distribution layer & access layer switches as they are not able to sysncronise with NTP Sever. Is any command is missing from my end on core Switches.PLease help me out in resolving this issue.

Re: Configuring NTP Server.

generally you need to have reachability to your NTP servers as well as access via the network. i.e. can you traceroute/ping from your access/dist switches to the NTP server? Are there any access-lists that restrict the NTP protocol in the path? Is your NTP authentication string (if any) the same on both ends?. On Switches a simplest NTP config might look like this:

#ntp

set ntp client enable

set ntp server IP_ADDY_OF_NTP_SERVER

set timezone GMT 0

Goodluck.
