Yes. Different wavelengths at work here.
100BASE-FX (Fast Ethernet over multimode fiber) uses 1310 nanometer (nm) to transmit and receive.
1000BASE-SX (Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fiber) uses 850 nm to transmit and receive.
