connecting 26 remote sites via CIsco 802s' in to a Central Office

Hello All,

I'm getting my feet wet with ISDN.

I'm looking to setup 26 remote offices housing 802 ISDN routers.

The reason for the connectivity is to manage each site and give them access to the internet via our Frame Link at the central office.

I'm looking for a suggestion on the main router to use at the central office.

to provide this connectivity .

I have a R&D budget of 1000 dollars to buy a scaled down central router to test the feasability of doing this.

Could someone recommend a router and interfaces.

I to have a PRI on the central router and BRI 2 64 KB B channels on each sites 802

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Charles

Re: connecting 26 remote sites via CIsco 802s' in to a Central O

You are probably best off with a refurbished 3600. Either a 3620 or a 3640 will do the job. You will then need a PRI-module, NM-CE1B, and a PRI-cable. Mind the interface, either balanced (RJ45) or unbalanced (coax)

On the LAN side you will need an ethernet interface, take 100Mbit if you can afford it and 10BT otherwise.

Thanks Leo,

Any leads on where one could get such a beast.

I'm starting with one Cisco 802 ISDN BRI 2 64 k data channels 1 SPID with DDR. I have a 2600 at the central site now.

Do you think I could prototype the final network, if I bought a scaled down version of the final router? I can get the high dollar central router, but first I have to design , test and document a prototype.
