CONNECTING ADSL POINT-TO-POINT

Hi.

I need to connect 2 adsl router 827 togheter.

My provider sold me a leased adsl line point-to-point (pvc 8/35)

On each router the line is good (CD correctly detected), but i have some

problem to configure the connection.

The configuration about interfaces was:

interface ATM0

no ip address

no ip redirects

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

no atm ilmi-keepalive

pvc 8/35

encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer

dialer pool-member 1

!

dsl operating-mode auto

hold-queue 224 in

!

interface Dialer0

ip address 172.31.1.5 255.255.255.252

no ip redirects

encapsulation ppp

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

dialer pool 1

dialer-group 1

peer default ip address pool ADSL

no cdp enable

!

ip local pool ADSL 172.31.1.6

dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit

I tryed to add also ppp authentication but nothing.

Someone can help me and tell if this is the correct manner to

configure the 2 827 for connection togheter?

Tx.

Re: CONNECTING ADSL POINT-TO-POINT

ADSL leased line???

Are you sure your provider has given you a private circuit?

I don't know whether DSL is diff in your location, but in UK if we use DSL to connect 2 locations, it's done using VPN solution.

We use PPP (point to point) but termination is your providers network into Internet.
