If you have Dual 6509's, both with redundant supervisors/msfcs do you connect the sup's as follows and make a single channel:
1/1 to 1/1
1/2 to 1/2
2/1 to 2/1
2/2 to 2/2
or do you connect them as follows:
1/1 to 1/1
1/2 to 2/1
2/1 to 1/2
2/2 to 2/2
The reasoning is that if a sup fails and the standby becomes active unless it's connected to both sup's you'll lose the whole channel...

Hi,
If you are making the channel using all the four ports, then it doesn;t matter because if the supervisor is active or standby, the port are always active
Thanks

Does that mean bandwidth between the switches will be 4Gb even though two of the sup's are standby?
