Hi! I'm trying to connect to a Catalyst 3560 series switch, which has VLANs configured on all it's ports. The switch itself is configured for 172.16.1.1/24.

I've configured a laptop (with CNA 4.0) to 172.16.1.10/24 and connected it to one of the ports. But i can't access the switch using the CNA.

I even configured:

ip http server

to see if it helps, but i still can't access the switch.

Am i missing anything? Please help.

Can you ping 172.16.1.1 from the laptop ?

If not, can you post the following:

- interface config for interface to which the laptop is connected

- vlan interface config for the interface whose IP address is 172.16.1.1

Hi Friend,

I hope you are able to ping your switch from your laptop? If no can you update the vlan on port to which you have connected your laptop and the vlan on which you have assigned an ip 172.16.1.1/24

If you are able to ping then have a look at this link and see if this helps

HTH, if yes please rate the post.

ok. The port I connected my laptop to is configured to VLAN 242. I reconfigured it to VLAN 1 and now I can ping 172.16.1.1. I'm also able to access the switch via CNA.

Thanks guys! :)
