I would like to ask some advice about setting up connectivity to many small remote offices (40+) via ISDN lines. There will be about 2-35 people at each office running Citrix Metaframe. Would anyone have any ideas about what the best routers to use without killing my budget for both Remote offices and the Main office? What about IP setup without wasting too many IP addresses? Any help would be great.
we use either 1600 or 1700 series routers for our external sites and a 3640 for the main office. the 1700 series are probably the better router and are about the same price as a 1600 series. as far a ip set up just pick an address range then subnet it down.
Use eigrp stubs or statics for the remotes (if they have only one way out, and no backup, use statics). For links, consider unnumbered or /31 masks on the point-to-point links.
