Connection hanging

we have 6 AS5300 Servers and One 7200 VXR router which are connected via a Catalyst 2926 switch. Remote Users when dialing and connecting,the connection gets intermittently hanged. Also when pinging from NAS to the router (with say aroung 500 Repeat count) you get intermittent timeouts.Whereas if you ping the otherway round from router to NAS there is no timeout.The same issue is at our different POP locations also.

Any suggestion Please.

Hi,

The timing out may be due to many reasons. Delay could be one of them. Also check if the clock rate is the same on both sides. Another possibility might be a routing issue. If there are multiple paths, then the packets might be getting load balanced and hence the packets might be dropped in one direction. Please check the routing table and also check for discontinuous network configuration
