console port displays strange characters on 2610

Have 2610 router. Have tried to use different speed settings e.g 9600bps, 4800bps and the recommended console port settings, still giving strange characters on console port. Have tried using different flash card. Still to no success.

Any suggestion?

Did you try only at 9600/4800 or you tried even 2400/1200 bps also. Did you check the cable you are using ?? It should be rollover (flat blue or black cable).

If its still not working, you might want to consider opening a case with tac, to rma it.

I tried them all e.g. from 1200bps to 56000bps. I used the same rollover cable I console to cisco3640 (flat blue).

Do you know what config is inside the router ? If yes, you can try telnet into it, by hooking the ethernet into a lan switch or hub? If this also doesnt work, then, you might want to RMA it or open a case with Cisco.
