Contingence in switch 3524

I need connect 2 switches in different buildings. I would like connect in a gigabit port and in a fast ethernet port with fiber converter media in the same time. I only want redundancy, not load balance.

This work? How do I do spanning-tree configuration?

The gigabit(port cost 4)will forward by default and the fastethernet port(port cost 19) will block
