Converting 6509 with Sup720/PFC3/MFC3 from Cat OS to Cisco IOS
I understand that I can use Cisco IOS with the sup720/PFC3/MFC3. I am running 8.4(3) on Sup module now and wanted to load 12.2(17d) (s72033-jk9sv-mz.122.17d.SXB10.bin). Then I set configuration to load the image but the system will not load it and keep loading 8.4(3). I have a buch of 4500's and 37xx and 29xx so I would prefer to use Cisco IOS rather than Cat OS. Unless there is feature in Cat OS that not supported in Cisco IOS I would like to convert the 6509 to use Cisco IOS. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

follow the directions that prikrishn gave you and take your time , it's fairly involved changing it over but if you take your time it will work ok . It's not just a matter trying to copy a new IOS image on the box and reloading .
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
