copy ftp run error

I'm in the process of editing an access-list. When I attempt to ftp the running-config back to the router, I receive a time out error. I tested the same procedure with a much smaller running-config file, which in this case it worked. I was thinking maybe I was running out of space. But this is what I get [5549244 bytes used, 2315076 available, 7864320 total]. Is there allocated space for running-confg? If there is, am I able to change it?

Timed out errors signifies different kinds of problems like network error or TFTP server application not responding. So, in your case try to restart your TFTP server application and first test reachability from router to that server through Ping.

And "running-config" is a copy of NVRAM startup-config at boot up and it runs from RAM. So, there is no relevance for it with flash size.
