If CoS should be used with ISL and 802.1 Q Frame only , How can we interpert the use of CoS in the diagrma between AL Switch and Cisco IP phone ? (since there is no trunk between these two devices, that means there is no ISL and 802.1Q)
You can specify a class of service (CoS) value globally on all ingress Layer 2 protocol tunneling ports. Because the CoS value applies to all ingress tunneling ports, all encapsulated PDUs sent out by the switch have the same CoS value. Valid values are 0 to 7 and the default CoS is 5.
Normally you run 802.1Q between the IP telephone and the switch. The IP telephone has a small switch inside, and feeds 802.1Q into the 2950. The PC traffic and the phone traffic are normally on different VLANs.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
