COS-DSCP Map

I have been setting up auto qos on some 3550s and a 4507 switch and I have a question. Before auto qos, Cisco recommended changing the default cos to dscp mapping from 0 8 16 26 32 46 48 56 to 0 8 16 26 34 46 48 56, but the auto qos puts the former mapping into the config. Is it still recommended to manually change this in the config, and what effect would this have in a voice (CCM) and data environment?

Any comments are appreciated.

Auto QoS modifies CoS-to-DSCP and IP precedence-to-DSCP mappings in LANs and automatically classifies RTP payload and VoIP control packets in WANs. Manual configuration is not necessary.

Please take a look at the following white paper and FAQs for details.
