CPU PROCESSES

Hi.

I have one doubt.

Somebody knows how cisco add the % process utilization??

When I do "show proc cpu" show :

CPU utilization for five seconds: 96%/82%; one minute: 95%; five minutes: 94%

But, I dont have a process that spents all CPU resources.

How add Cisco these processes?

Somebody know the algorithm???

Thanks in advance

Re: CPU PROCESSES

the first number in the past five seconds represents the total cpu usage , the second number represents the cpu % utilized by processing interupts, the difference is the amount of the cpu that is being used by scheduled tasks.

If you look further down at the processes if you add them all up they should equal the number to the right of the slash

I have CEF running on my board

Re: CPU PROCESSES

If you take the 5s values (x%/y%), the first value (x) represents the total amount of CPU usage and the second (y%) represents interrupts. Usually, interrupts are due to traffic being fast-switched by the router. The difference between the 2 values represent the amount of process time which are being recorded below.
