I have an out-of-the-box Catalyst3548XL switch .There are no user connections nor trunk connections on the switch. But the CPU utilization shows a consistent 50%. Can anybody explain???

It is not an issue and is normal for the 2900 and 3500 XL range. This is normal due to device H/W architecture, the sh proc that you see on these devices are from monitoring port status and LED status. If you issue a sh proc you should see high util under one or both of the process's mentioned.

Is the information in the above link available at another URL? I can't get into the Partners area.
