New Catalyst WS-C2948G. Comes up ok. Command sh crashdump mod 1

shows message: Version and date: Old crashdump format or invalid Version and Date, then a lot of information similar as a stackdump.

What means this message ? Is that switch faulty ?

Thanks Ruedi

Hi,

If the crashdump is telling the invalid date or version then it is not the valid crashdump and may be corrupted. You can do clear crashdump 1 and make sure you are running 5-5-14 , 6-3-9 or 7.3.2 or above software version on the switch.

This is more like the software crash , not like faulty supervisor.

Thanks

Erum

Hi Erum,

So simple, isn't it ? But I was looking before for clear commands with clear ? but clear crashdump is not on options list in cli .

Had just the same issue with a cat4000. Will clear crashdumps.

Thanks for help.

Ruedi
