Hi,

Could any tell me if CRC error is due to error in Data link layer also .AFAIK CRC error is generated due to problem in physical connectivity.

a CRC error can be the result of a layer 2 issue.

data framing issues could cause CRCs in certain situations. this may not be seen as much as a data read/write problems that cause CRC errors.

the CRCs i've seen in most cases were not caused by a layer 2 issue as much as from the higher layers for example.

On LAN links, the most common cause of CRC errors is autonegotiation mismatches.
