CSM - Pings dropping out


Its been a long day....

We have a 6509, with FWSM operating in transparent bridging mode and have CSM configured in one arm mode.

We are seeing very mixed results, load balancing appears to work however when we ping the VIP address from the servers sometimes (intermittently) we see a batch of 6 pings failing, followed by approx 30 successful, followed by 6 failing (its always 6).......

We have found that by taking real servers out of service and back inservice that the pings sometimes start working, removong and adding our policy routing also sometimes fixes it. There doesn't seem to be any pattern.

Has anybody seen this before? I'll try and get configs for tomorrow.

This matter is now resolved.

We found that by adding probes everything worked fine.

We did initially try probes but couldn't get them to work - because we added an IP address to the probe config...We also needed to set recover as the default didn't seem to recover.
