Customer has a mux that they want to split voice and data with.

They have a drop and insert mux with a v.35 interface for data. They want to use some channels on the T1 for voice and the rest can be used for data. Is the wic-1t the right card?

If so, does it just synch to the proper speed for whatever is being sent over the muxes v.35 interface to the router?

Re: Customer has a mux that they want to split voice and data wi

The v.35 port on the mux (or add/drop CSU, or whatever) should provide a clock at the right speed for the number of channels it has configured for that data port. The WIC-1T will do the right thing and data will transfer over the interface as soon as you plug it in. The customer should still define 'bandwidth XYZ' on that serial interface as Nx64 (128, 256, etc) so that the router correctly calculates the interface load and correctly chooses between different cost IGP routes.
