CW 2000 TFTP download

When trying to TFTP a file from a 3548 switch to my CW2000 server, I get the following error message:

TFTP: error code 2 received - Access violation

%Error opening tftp:// (Undefined error)

It appears that I have to give write permissions for the TFTP server. I have no trouble downloading a file from the TFTP server to the switch.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: CW 2000 TFTP download

I could definitely be wrong, but I believe the TFTP server on the Ciscoworks Server is there to be used only by Ciscoworks, not by you.

If it initiates the upload or download, the server works just fine for me, but I get the same error message as you if I try and tftp to it manually from one of my units.

Cisco has a free TFTP Server you can use, so does My favorite one though is one by 3com. Its a TFTP Server/Client as well as a syslog server and FTP Server. Really nice... I believe Cisco's is discontinued now, 3coms is available here:
