CW2000 (LMS 2.1) user tracking

Tracker is not 100 percent. Some ip addresses are not recorded by user tracker

and the MAC address on a Cisco switch is not on the port indicated by

user tracker.

Are there certain conditions when user tracker can not report accurate info???

Not sure if you have seen: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/Campus/ani.shtml which should help.

Re: CW2000 (LMS 2.1) user tracking

IP addressess can only be recorded when there's an entry in the router's ip arp-cache. To force this (if there's no inter-vlan routing from a client, there's no entry either) Usertracking performs a ping sweep (default enabled). This ping sweep however run only the first 256 hosts. So if you use VLSM or bigger subnets it can't resolve all ip addresses.
