DC volts from Voice Over IP power supply causing damage?
We had a rep from Fluke recently visit to certify our cable plant. He made a comment about the new Cisco port cards that provide DC volts for Voice over IP phones. We have purchased a few of these modules for our upcoming VoIP rollout. He made mention that the DC volts that these new port cards are capable of sending down the wire can damage test gear. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?
