I am trying to configure dialer profiles to allow incoming calls to use unique local CHAP names per profile. The problem is that the Cisco router sends the hostname as the local CHAP when the call first connects, this causes the remote site to fail because it does not have the hostname configured in its user database. If I configure caller-id then the Cisco correctly identifies the appropriate profile and uses the local CHAP name configured in that profile.
The current central router waits for the remote site to send its CHAP challenge first then correctly identifies which local chap name to use.
