DecNet

To satisfy a customer requirement, we are being asked to implement some form of DecNet routing into their frame-relay network.

Currently this is a pure IP network running OSPF.

Does anyone have any experience with DecNet routing?

What's the best way to implement this?

1/ GRE tunnel - Any issues with timeouts etc.

2/ Bridge

3/ Full DecNet routing

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DecNet

The best way would depend on your network and the requirements. However, GRE tunnel would add an encapsulation overhead and bridging would have a broadcast overhead.

Decnet routing characteristics are similar to OSPF and Decnet Routing can be implemented on NBMA networks such as Frame Relay. So implementing Decnet Routing seems like a good option.
