Default and Custom Views on CiscoWorks 2000 last edition.

Can I remove all default views and use only custom/private views, so a specific user can see only a group of devices?

And why when I restore from backup all custom views are lost.

Re: Default and Custom Views on CiscoWorks 2000 last edition.

Did you go thru these steps while doing the back up?

1 At the command line, make sure you have the correct permissions.

2 Make sure jobs are not running any critical tasks. As part of the restoration

process, the CiscoWorks2000 processes are shut down and restarted. If any

critical tasks are running then data might be lost.

3 Stop all processes. Enter net stop crmdmgtd at the command line.

4 Restore the database:

 %NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\ [-force] [-

s suite][-gen generationNumber] -d backup_directory

%NMSROOT% is the CiscoWorks2000 installation directory.

Force will force the restore of an old schema.

Suite is the application to be restored (all by default).

Gen allows the selection of which backup version.

5 Examine the log file to verify that the database was restored. View the log

file in the following location: %NMSROOT%\log\restorebackup.log

6 Restart the system. Enter net start crmdmgtd at the command line.
