Default NPE for 7206 VXR router

Hi !

Our router defaults to NPE-175 whenever it doesn't recognize the installed NPE. Is it possible to define the NPE-type for the 7206 VXR manually ? I want to use NSE-1.

If yes, then please let me know what command to use.

Thanks.

Fareerduddin,

No you cannot specify the NPE/NSE types for your router. Assuming you are running proper IOS to support this HW it should be recognized. I would be surprised if your router would correctly even boot if you did not have required IOS though.

HW/SW Compatability page URL for determining this:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/Support/HWSWmatrix/hwswmatrix.cgi/

NSE-1 IOS Requirements:

12.1(1)E, 12.1(5)T, 12.2(1), 12.2(2)T

Hope this helps,
