delete SVI can remove dhcp snooping on that vlan 6500 platform issue

it is easy to reproduce this issue on 6500 platform:

1, enable dhcp snooping on vlan 100

2, create SVI vlan 100

3, remove interface vlan 100

4, then check dhcp snooping was disable on vlan 100.

question: SVI is layer 3 interface and dhcp snooping is layer 2 function. why remove layer 3 interface can cause layer 2 function stop working?

I did not see this problem on 36xx and 4510 platform. so I guess it is related with 6500 infrastructure. I found one word in the configuration guide:"The DHCP snooping feature is implemented in software on the route processor (RP). Therefore, all
DHCP messages for enabled VLANs are intercepted in the PFC and directed to the RP for processing." Is this the root cause? Can anyone provide more detail explaination?

Regards,

Leo
