deleting file from flash

I threw a new .bin file into flash to update the portware. The first transfer failed and the second was good. Shows up in flash the same as the good one except that it has checksum error in brackets.

Problem is if I try to delete the file, it deletes the good one. I do notice that when I look at the files in flash they are listed by number also ( example)

1 4678798 c3640-i-mz-12.0.7.bin

2 4096 mica-modem-pw.2.9.4.0.bin checksum error

3 3873789 mica-modem-pw.2.9.4.0.bin

can I delete the second file by line number as compared to filename?

No, I don't think you can erase files by line number.

This might not be a good suggestion but isn't easier to erase both files and try copying one again? I would also suggest backing up the IOS before adding (or removing) files to (or from) the flash memory.
