Presently I am running with the following switches
3512 XL Enterprises edition (2 gbic modules)
3524 XL Enterprises edition (2 gbic modules)
3548 XL Enterprises edition (2 gbic modules)
Since the production of the above switches has been stopped. Please write me suitable alternate cisco switches with PART NOs.

V - With the EOL on the 3500 series, we moved onto the 2950 series. Seems to be fairly even trade.

The 3500 series has double the backlane bandwidth, 2 modular gbic interfaces and do support isl trunking. witch the 2950 does not.
so it's not realy an even trade.

The 2950 does offer gbics and has a 13.6 - 8.8 Gb back plane. The 3500 has a 8.8Gb backplane also. The ISL trunking is really a trade off anyway. Not all companies implement proiprietary technologies due to incompatibility issues.
