I keep getting Resource Exception - ExccessiveFragmenttaion all the time from a number of our switches. Looking at the Cisco Website, it could be a number of problems from cpu to memory ranging from

Memory Fragmentation Threshold

Memory Buffer Miss Threshold

Memory Buffer Utilization Threshold

Free Memory Threshold

Doing a show version showed this:

DRAM FLASH NVRAM

Total Used Free Total Used Free Total Used Free

------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ------- ----- ----- -----

65536K 33645K 31891K 16384K 5163K 11221K 480K 197K 283K

Which shows a lot left for utlization. Please do I ignore this message. And if not, what more do I need to do.

Thanks for your help.

What version of DFM are you using?. Make sure that you have installed the latest IDU for DFM which have fixes for this and other bugs as well.

This is definitely CSCdu56631. It has been fixed in DFM 1.1.1 which was carried on to 1.1.2. Please refer to the readme file of patch 1.1.2
