DFM notifier to send only mail when a trunk on a specific switch is down

How can I configure the mail notifier to only send e-mails when specific links, IE trunks from my 2950s to my 6509 switches, are down. Please help. Urgent.

Re: DFM notifier to send only mail when a trunk on a specific sw

Hello,

you can read the chapter Using DFM Adapter from DFM User Guide. You can find a table 10-2 with all specific event to mail or trap.

Look at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/dfm/dfm1_1/u_g/adapter.htm

I cannot test it but you can try with:

SubscribesTo =

{

GA_ChoiceSubscription::Mail-All-Subscriptions

{

# Subscribe to events whose class, instance, and event

# names match the given pattern.

className = ".*Port.*"

instanceName = ".*"

eventName = "OperationallyDown"

aggregates = TRUE

symptoms = TRUE

}

}

Let me know.

Andrea.

Andrea,

Thanks for helping. I allready read those parts of the manual and I understand the syntax...but with the procedure you gave, I will have a mail for every port that went down, will I? I would like to receive e-mail for specific ports (only trunkports) and on certain devices, not all. Is that possible?

Hi,

I don't believe you can get a message for "a specific link of a specific device".

What do you think about AutoAction on Syslog Analyzer of RME, if you have it!?

Andrea.
