dhcp and dns

On my cisco soho dsl router at home the wan ip address is negotiated, This must pull back my isp's dns's, the lan side is also on dhcp via my router, when I do an ip config on my pc it has my isp's dns addresses in. how does the router pass this to the lan clients from the isp ?

Re: dhcp and dns

Hi

I feel you mite have configured the DNS address in your DHCP scope configuration.

Where you configured up the pool, domain and the DNS parameters.

Thats the only way which will be forcing/making the pcs to use the DNS keyed in in the DHCP configuration.

Re: dhcp and dns

The parameters received from your SP will be automatically passed to your DHCP clients if you configure the "import all" statement under the "ip dhcp pool".

Hope this helps,
