can anyone confirm that IOS ver 12.0.7T has issues with the "IP helper-address" command. I read somewhere that this is broken in the above mentioned IOS. If so, are you familiar with a work around?

thanks

If there is a problem on IOS ve 12.0.7T it should be listed on the IOS bug database. If you have CCO login got into the bug database report. Anyways, I looked and shows that 12.0.7T is on a impossible to reproduce or duplicate status for bug report# CSCds09264 which states: I quote ...

When forwarding Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) requests with the ip helper-address interface configuration command through

a virtual template, DHCP offers are not forwarded back by the server side

router if both server side and client side router have fast-switching enabled

on the virtual template interface.Workaround: Disable fast-switching on one of the routers (no matter which one).

Hopes this helps

Since you have mentioned about i can throw some lights on CSCds09264. Its not seen in the versions after 12.1.4 for mainline and .T versions.

Russell may not see that issue though..Thx..Tejal

when I run the debug, this is what I get:

1w0d: UDP: rcvd src=0.0.0.0(68), dst=255.255.255.255(67), length=308

1w0d: BOOTP: opcode 1 on interface FastEthernet0/0, 2816 secs, 0 hops

1w0d: UDP: sent src=10.176.84.1(67), dst=10.176.0.26(67), length=328

1w0d: UDP: rcvd src=0.0.0.0(68), dst=255.255.255.255(67), length=308

1w0d: BOOTP: opcode 1 on interface FastEthernet0/0, 6912 secs, 0 hops

1w0d: UDP: sent src=10.176.84.1(67), dst=10.176.0.26(67), length=3

this is the only response the router receives.... I have another site with the same router and IOS which works fine.. thoughts?
