DHCP Problem

Hi,

I have set up a private network using the 10.10.0.0 address range for testing usage. I can not get the DHCP server working with the 10 network. It works fine with our public class C range.

I have checked the IP helper address which is defined on the router, checked all the permission on the Pix 515, but still cannot understand why it will will not work.

Any help please..

Are the subnet masks for the router's interface on 10.10.0.0 and the DHCP scope the same?

Can you ping the router's interface on 10.10.0.0 from the DHCP server?

If you answer yes to both, then you might need to turn DHCP debugging on the router and/or use a packet sniffer to capture traffic to the DHCP server.

Make sure you have not defined a broadcast address on the interface ie. 10.10.255.255 this will screw up dhcp , it needs to use 255.255.255.255 as a broadcast for it to work correctly.
