Dial-in over WAN

Hi,

I've make the follow configuration:

user-modem ---- PSTN ---- Cisco 2650

The Cisco 2650 had another modem attached to the AUX port. I call from user-modem to Cisco 2650, and I can connect to it. This scenario works OK.

Then I've tried the configuration below:

user-modem ---- FXS 1750(1)---------- WAN --------- FXS 1750(2)

The 1750(2) has a modem attached to the AUX port. I call from user-modem and I can't connect to 1750(2). This scenario doesn't works.

I think that is because the compression data over WAN link. I've tried codec g711 (64k) in dial-peer, but it doesn't work too.

Can I do this configuration in some manner?

Thanks

Re: Dial-in over WAN

The modem at AUX port on 1750(2) will not work. Gateway can't send a call on AUX port..so You need to connect modem on FXS port on 1750(2) for this setup to work.

That setup is very popular..we call it as "modem pass-through". Visit following url for more on that..
