Dial-inPCs from many diff. places

we want to use a Cisco 801 as access-server to allow one company to dial-in to our network. Because the dial-in should be done from many different locations by PC or Notebook, a mapping can not be done.

The router is configured with dialer-profiles to provide connections to 4 locations.

When a PC dials in, no connection will be established. Debug shows the following output: Incomming call rejected, unbindable.

interface Dialer 5

ip address ...

no ip split-horizon

encapsulation ppp

dialer in-band

dialer idle-timeout 120

dialer remote-name pc

dialer-group 1

dialer pool 5

ppp authentication chap callin

ppp multilink

no cdp enable

peer default ip address pool isdn-Group-5

Can anyone help?

Re: Dial-inPCs from many diff. places

Try this...

1.

interface Dialer1

description MY 801 router's dialer

ip unnumbered Loopback0

no ip directed-broadcast

encapsulation ppp

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

no keepalive

dialer in-band

dialer idle-timeout 600

dialer-group 8

peer default ip address pool ISDN-POOL

no cdp enable

ppp authentication chap callin

ppp multilink

2. Make sure your isdn-Group-5 pool is defined - I don't see it.

3. Where is the username statement ? How the user authenticates ?

Let me know the result.

Best,

Plamen

Re: Dial-inPCs from many diff. places

make sure you debug ppp authentication as well.. it`ll make it easy to see a client problem like not using chap etc`

Re: Dial-inPCs from many diff. places

Thank you very much!

I have solved the problem by using a dialer-map configuration.

Re: Dial-inPCs from many diff. places

Looks like you are missing the " dialer remote-name" command that helps the router bind the dialer interface to the correct remote router (we use multiple dialers on one ISDN line).
