Difference

Hello,

Can anybody tell me what is the main difference between a Catalyst 3550 switch and a Catalyst 3750 switch?

Thanks

Re: Difference

Everything:-)...The architecture of 3750 is based on our new Stackwise architecture. You can read more about it on CCO at

Re: Difference

Everything, basically.

The 3550 was designed with 10/100 and cascading in mind and the 3750 with 10/100/1000 and stacking in mind. The 3550 is built on a central switching ASIC and the 3750 is built on a number of ASICs connected to a ring.

From a user point of view, i guess the main difference is "x10".

Re: Difference

While other 3550 series models only support 10/100 the 3550-12G & 3550-12T series are exceptions and support 10/100/1000.

Rajesh
