hello,
Can any one state the basic differences between the a gigabit uplink port on the 65xx switch's supervisory engine and a normal gigabit port on a switching module installed in the switch.
-- can it be used to pass traffic between the LAN segment --- to/from --- f/w --- the edge router?
-- what are limitation or advantages to using the uplink port?

Basically, both ports act as normal gigabit switch ports.
However, there are some differences in QoS features, connection to switching fabric, subscription, etc. For the most part, it does not make a difference which port you use unless you are using advance features such as QoS and high bandwidth.

Thanks for the information. That was just what I needed to know.
