Differentiating between multiple users over single 700 series router

We have the situation where Cisco 700 series routers connect over several as5300 access servers. We can identify the routers, but is there any way of interrogating the virtual interface to see how many users are coming in over that one router ?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

The only option that I can think of it to enable IP accounting on the interface, and take the "show ip accounting" output to see how many different source addresses there are.
