disable VTP

We once had additional vlans on our network but not any longer. I've found that there are two VTP domains on the network which is causing problems. Since we don't need it, what is the best way to get rid of it?

Re: disable VTP

Hello

Set all your switches to 'transparent' mode - depending on IOS/cat OS versions commands will be:

set vtp mode transparent (CATOS)

vtp transparent

or

vtp mode transparent

This makes each switch have a standalone VLAN database (i.e. doesn't receive VTP vlans or serve them).

If you want to clear the VLAN DB you can do this by deleting vlan.dat from flash...
