Disappearing IPX routes/servers

The following scenario has happened a couple of times and I'm wondering "why?" The are some IPX servers sitting at a host location. Users at remote locations access these via a Frame/ATM network. Suddenly users at only one of the remotes will not be able to access one of the IPX servers. If I do a 'clear ipx route' at the remote router the problem is resolved. My question is why does this happen? What is the cause of route/network disappearing? And, why is it not rediscovered automatically by the routing protocol (eigrp)?

Take a look at the following case study to see if you are hitting any of these bugs

Re: Disappearing IPX routes/servers

Prior to clearing the route I would check for a route in the routing table to that network. then find out who is advertising that network.

Usually when you have ittermittent respone in IPX some Rogue server has RIP or ip forwarding enabled and is advertising bogus routes.
