Distribute-list

Hi,

If I have a distribute-list:

CASE1:

distribute-list 1 in

access-list 1 permit 10.1.0.0 0.0.255.255

Am I right to say that this will allow 10.1.0.0/16, 10.1.1.0/24, 10.1.2.0/24, and so on. As long as the network prefix matches 10.1.x.x.

CASE2:

distribute-list 1 in

access-list 1 permit host 10.1.0.0

Am i right to say that will allow 10.1.0.0/16, 10.1.0.0/17, 10.1.0.0/18, and so on. As long as the network prefix matches 10.1.0.0

My question is if I want to allow 10.1.0.0/16 only, what should I configure?

Thanks for the help

Fujin

Often times complex troubleshooting issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, it’s often difficult to do so for this type of issue.

Re: Distribute-list

If you want to match exact prefix route, try to use prefix-list,like the below. And before deploying it,make sure whether the IOS support.

ip prefix-list test permit 10.1.0.0/16

router eigrp/rip/igrp [as-num]

distribute-list prefix test in
