DLSW and 6509

I have a 3640 that connects to a 6509 with dual MSFCs installed. This 6509 is attaced to a 4912 via a dot1q trunk. Then hanging off the 4912 there is a 3548 with a dot1q trunk between them. I have a user that needs to communicate to a 3Com router/Controller pair which is attached to the 3548. The 3Com router will be setup to perform DLSW functions and not routing. Can the Cisco MSFC support this configuration and if so how?

MSFC supports DLSW in software. If you configure the MSFC for DLSW, make sure you use DEC spanning-tree. See the following document for more details:
