dlsw local-peer with hsrp

hi,

my question:

i have 2 7513 router which act as dlsw-peer for our ibm-host.

i configured 2 hsrp-groups, where for group 1 the 7513(1) and for group 2 the

7513(2) is the active one.

the two hsrp adresses are 10.18.254.221 and 10.18.254.222.

now i want to setup a dlsw tunnel to the hsrp adress, so that if one 7513 fails, the other takes this traffic.

the problem:

if for example the 7513 which takes care of 10.18.254.222 fails, the other 7513

takes pakets for 10.18.254.222 - because of hsrp.

but i only can define only one dlsw local-peer !!!!

is there any other possibility - except dlsw backup-peer ???

(for example to configure more then one dlsw local-peer)

thanks

You can also find a fairly extensive discussion of redundancy options for DLSw in the DLSw chapter in my book High Availability Networking with Cisco. See the extended table of contents on my web site.

You do not want to do DLSw peering with an HSRP address. DLSw keeps a TCP connection active between peers, along with lots of state and naming information, none of which will transfer over when HSRP moves to another router.
